Anna Maria Island 4th Of July Celebrations Include Barbecue

Cooking out is about as American as Apple Pie, and is extremely popular during the 4th of July. Grilling and fire are not permitted on the beaches of Anna Maria Island, but some of the beach accesses do have public grilling areas with charcoal grills. There are grilling areas at Bayfront Park, Manatee Public beach and Coquina beach. Most vacation rental homes on Anna Maria Island do offer propane or charcoal grills, but be sure to check before arriving.

4th of July Parade

Every year the Anna Maria Island Privateers host the 4th of July Parade. A fun event, everyone is welcome to join in on the procession. Joining in as a parade member only requires a mode of transportation including bikes, cars or golf carts. The parade starts at Coquina beach at 10am and heads north ending at the City Pier. The parade goes along Gulf Drive, East Bay Drive, Marina Drive and Finishes on Pine Avenue. Parade watchers catch beads and candy. There’s nothing more fun than a small town parade on the 4th of July!

4th of July Fireworks – Only Sparklers Allowed – Anna Maria Island Fireworks

Anna Maria Island Fireworks – You may not use fireworks on the beaches of Anna Maria Island. Fireworks are not allowed on the beach for safety concerns to both people and wildlife. This rule includes all consumer fireworks, firecrackers, bottle rockets and anything that is explosive. It is illegal to light any type of firework with the one exception of sparklers.

When caught using any type of Illegal firework you can face a $1000 fine and a year in prison.

Sparklers may be used on the beach; however, caution must take priority. Burning at 1200 degrees, they can still cause third degree burns. Sparklers may only be used one at a time, and it is illegal to bundle them together.

Anna Maria Island Fireworks are not safe for public use

Each year emergency professionals respond to calls of injury and fire due to consumer use of fireworks. Fireworks are not safe for the general public to use. Only  experts at a public show, such as the Sandbar’s 4th of July display, should handle fireworks.

In addition to the safety of individuals, Anna Maria Island Wildlife and beaches are extremely vulnerable to fireworks. Fire caused by fire works can damage sand dunes. Nesting sea turtles and birds can be injured, or may even abandon nesting efforts due to fireworks.

  • In 2013 sparklers caused 41% of fireworks injuries

Fireworks Permit

Each year on Anna Maria Island the fire department will only issue two fireworks permits. One permit is currently issued to the Sandbar Restaurant. Additionally, the fire inspector will check that fireworks are properly set up.

If you are planning to visit Anna Maria Island beaches for 4th of July please do not light fireworks, and keep a close eye on children when attending the Sandbar Fireworks display. Sandbar Fireworks Display

Enjoy The Annual Sandbar Fireworks Display on Monday, July 4th just after dusk. Limited VIP tickets are available for $140/adults $50/children. In years past, Sandbar sister restaurant The Beach House has held a July 3rd display. The Beach House display is canceled in respect of nearby nesting shorebirds for a second year.

July 4th Anna Maria Island is always fantastic, and 2014 is no exception! The Chiles Group of restaurants continues it’s annual public fireworks displays for the 4th of July holiday. It’s a blast every single year!

Starting on Thursday, July 3rd, the Beach House restaurant will host its 21st Annual Fireworks Extravaganza. Located at 200 Gulf Dr N, Bradenton Beach, there will be VIP packages available. For more information call 941-779-2222.

The following evening on Friday, July 4th,  the fireworks move up to northern Anna Maria. Here you’ll also find the Sandbar restaurants 28th Annual Fireworks Spectacular. There will be a VIP party under the open-air pavilion for $125 per person. That includes an upscale buffet, complimentary Sandbar specialty drinks, beer, wine and party favors. 4th July Anna Maria Island Parade is a quintessential small town good time! Enjoy Anna Maria Island’s Annual Independence Day Parade this year on Friday, July 4th!

The parade will start at 10AM and go anywhere from 12PM-2PM. 4th of July FireworksDon’t fear, we have all the information you need on festivities for 4th of July Fireworks on Anna Maria Island.  The Mar Vista Restaurant and Moore’s Stone Crab Restaurant on Longboat Key kicked off the 4th of July holiday celebration last night with great food and drinks and a fabulous firework display over the bay.  If you missed it don’t worry, you still have 2 chances to catch the fireworks on Anna Maria Island.  Tonight at the Beachhouse Restaurant in Bradenton Beach, and tomorrow at the Sandbar Restaurant in the City of Anna Maria.

The annual 4th of July Parade starts at 10 a.m on Wednesday morning. The parade begins at south end of the island in Coquina Beach and travels the entire length of Anna Maria Island to Bay Front Park.

Anna Maria Island Independence Day Celebration With Pirates and Fireworks!

Canons blasting and swords drawn, the Anna Maria Island Privateers led the annual 4th of July parade, tossing beads and candy from their ship as they sailed the entire length of Anna Maria Island.  Organizations from all over Anna Maria Island were represented in the parade.  Local merchants, music, and even Island Real Estate showed their patriotism by waving the red white and blue, and greeting the bystanders with toys and treats.  Anna Maria Island Independence day is a must visit.
