Jodi Nichols -  Chief Executive Officer of Island Real Estate Vacations

Jodi's specialty is designing vacation rental properties. Her goal is to create comfortable coastal looks that represent the area and the natural aesthetic of the property without the high price tag as compared to other local designers and shops in and around Anna Maria Island, Florida. 

As a girl raised in Florida all her life, she has always had a passion for the beach and all things coastal. In Jodi's professional career, she has over 25 years of successful, progressive operations leadership experience in resort hospitality and vacation rental management as well as over 10 years’ experience working in interior design across Florida. Jodi's experience working in the vacation rental industry in Florida and knowing what is required to meet guests and owner expectations brought a level of expertise and service that other local design companies have not been able to replicate.  On Anna Maria Island and our surrounding areas, Jodi has been able to use her natural creativity, knowledge, experience, and strong attention to detail to successfully update over 40 properties since moving down from the panhandle in 2012. 

Jodi's personalized designs have created a fan base with local property owners who have utilized her services to renovate more than one of their vacation rental properties. Jodi prides herself on being detailed oriented, professional and creative. As someone who is a passionate perfectionist, she always works closely with the team to ensure the quality of work provided in all areas exceed industry standards as well as guest and owner expectations. 

Jimmy Peters -  Florida Building Contractor - Property Operations Manager

Jimmy has facilitated projects both large and small for more than a decade. Jimmy previously worked with Island Real Estate for 4 years starting in 2012 as the Maintenance Manager overseeing the IRE Maintenance Technicians and the Maintenance Dispatch Team. During his time at Island Real Estate Jimmy earned the highest level of respect from Owners and staff and was a valued member of our Operations team. Since leaving IRE in 2015 after moving further south to be closer to family, Jimmy worked as a Project Manager building new homes. In April 2020, Jimmy returned back to Island Real Estate as our Property Operations Manager for our vacation rental division. As the Property Operations Manager, Jimmy is the key point of contact for owners on the Island Real Estate Vacations (IREV) rental program by responding to owner property concerns and acting as the liaison between the rental Owner and IREV’s internal departments.  

In 2020, Jimmy received his Building Contractors license and joined forces with Jodi Nichols in leading the construction side of our design and renovation division to execute renovations for homeowners in and around Anna Maria Island, Florida. 

Lewis Hughes -  Senior Project Technician

As a key member of our design team, Lewis has been the main technician to assist with interior design projects and has completed over 40 renovations with Jodi Nichols for vacation rental properties on Anna Maria Island. Lewis originally started with Island Real Estate in January 2013 as a Maintenance Technician. During his 5 years with Island Real Estate, Lewis showed his expertise through proven results and quickly progressed to become our Senior Project Technician utilizing his knowledge and skills to team up with Jodi Nichols. Lewis is one of the top technicians working on the island today and few have the experience he does. Some of Lewis’ skills include but not limited to, residential construction, pool and spa, electrical, plumbing, handyman service and a keen eye for detail. 


Beyond creating comfortable coastal looks our ultimate goal is to maximize our client’s rental revenue through design. If your property stands out from the competition, you will not only get more bookings, but you will also get repeat business year after year. Jodi has proven success that all renovations have significantly improved rental income for homeowners and increased positive online guest reviews and repeat guest bookings. One thing that makes us stand out from the competition is that we don't have a warehouse full of furnishings and décor. We purchase based on the job and the design style for each project and search near and far for unique items. The Island Design & Renovations team also receive discounts through numerous online and local vendors and those discounts are always extended to our clients. We are conservative in spending when making purchases and always have our client's best interest in mind.
