2. Cortez Stone Crab Festival

Join in on a tasty fun time with the 6th Annual Stone Crab Festival in Cortez Fishing Village! You’ll find fresh off the boat Stone Crab, live music, kid zone, artists and a beer tent. This event also benefits the Manatee Chapter of Fishing for Freedom. Visit Nov. 11th and 12th from 9am-6pm.

3. Venice Chalk Festival

Head off island for one of the countries best Chalk Festivals. Located in Venice, about an hour from Anna Maria Island, this street art festival is truly impressive. Over 100 artists from all over the world create temporary master pieces with chalk. Attend this event Nov. 10-13.

4. Arts Hop

Friday, Nov. 10 from 5 – 7:30 pm, celebrate artsHOP in style at the Artists’ Guild of Anna Maria Island Gallery located at 5414 Marina Drive, Holmes Beach.

5. Sunbathe on the Beach.

Anna Maria Island air temperatures range from the upper 70’s to the upper 50’s during November. In fact, you can even get a Fall sun burn if you aren’t careful! Enjoy laying out on the beach and soaking in the sun.

6. Pick Veggies at Hunsader Farms.

Less than an hour drive from the island, Bradenton’s Hunsader Farms is great for picking your own fresh produce. During the month of November you can pick a great selection of veggies. Black eyed peas, eggplant, green beans, Okra, purple hull peas, tomatoes and zipper peas too! Fields close at 3:30 Monday through Saturday.

We may not have hay rides on Anna Maria Island, but we do have a fantastic free trolley! Enjoy November on Anna Maria Island and comfortably go sightseeing too. The free trolley runs almost the entire length of the island. Typically one will pass by every 15-20 minutes.

Ride AMI Water Taxi and Shuttle

Ride AMI offers a multi-modal transit solution connecting Anna Maria Island, Cortez Fishing Village and Downtown Bradenton. Adventures Away of Bradenton developed Ride AMI, so they can offer both small group shuttle service and water taxis. Water Taxi service can be hailed online, by phone or even in person. Prices for adult water taxi service start as low as $5 per an adult and $3 per child.

Additionally, Ride AMI offers airport shuttle services to six different airports, and they have a large inventory of rentals. Outdoor equipment, beach gear, scooters, boats, jet skis and golf cart rentals are available for keeping you entertained.

Anna Maria Island’s Crown Jewel The AMI Free Trolley

Anna Maria Island Free Trolley is a great way to get to your favorite places on Anna Maria Island. The best part is that it’s FREE!!!  The Trolleys is air conditioned and service runs from 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. about every 20 minutes from the north end of the Island at Anna Maria City Pier south to Coquina Beach, in Bradenton Beach.

Free Trolley offers stops along the entire island

Trolley Stops are two to four blocks apart along the route and there are three main stops: Anna Maria City Pier, Manatee Public Beach, and Coquina Beach where the trolley will wait approximately three minutes before continuing the route.  All Anna Maria Island Trolley stops have a green sign with a trolley on it and most of them have a covered seating area while you wait.

In Holmes Beach the Trolley runs north on Marina Drive and South on Gulf Drive. So depending on where you are in Holmes Beach, you may have to walk a block or two. The Anna Maria Island Trolley is run by MCAT (Manatee County Area Transit) who partners with SCAT (Sarasota County Area Transit). So this is great for all of us because for just $.75 you can catch the Longboat Key Trolley from Coquina Beach on Anna Maria Island to downtown Sarasota, with stops on Longboat Key and St. Armand’s Circle. Daily service runs from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. every 30 minutes.

It doesn’t matter if you live here or are here enjoying your Anna Maria Island Vacation; remember the Trolley runs on “Island Time” so no need to be in a hurry. Enjoy the exquisite weather and beautiful views on your free Anna Maria Island Trolley adventure. I know I do!
