Motorworks Brewery

This was the first of local breweries to call Bradenton home. This 27,000 square foot brewery was built in 1923 as an automobile dealership. Out of this unique history came the name Motorworks.

Not only do they make beer for retail and wholesale, but they have a great tap room and a huge beer garden. Find a large selection of house made and other craft beers, full liquor and expansive wine collection.

If you get hungry while enjoying a cold one there is a food truck! Motorworks partners with several different local food trucks that are parked from 11:00am to 8:30pm, or later, daily.

Motorworks attracts some of the area’s most popular music acts and regularly has fun events too!

Darwin Brewing Company – 803 17th Ave West

This is another great spot not too far from Motorworks in the downtown area. They offer four year round beers plus seasonal selections from their 15 barrel production facility.

Darwin Brewery started in Sarasota Brewpub then moved down to Bradenton. At the original location, Brew Master Jorge Rosabal began crafting brews to pair with menu items.

The goal of the brewery is to create unique local brews to reflect the flavors and spices of Andean, Amazonian regions along with Florida too.

They have 14 taps, tap room and a beer garden. Visit their Facebook page to stay up to date on their events and entertainment line-up!

3 Keys Brewing – 2505 Manatee Avenue East

Enjoy small batch beers and family friendly eatery too. These brews are exclusive to the brew-pub making it a really unique spot. This “nano-brewery” has a four barrel brew system with an emphasis on experimenting with local flavors.

Modeled after the European and West coast style breweries, 3 Keys is a community gathering place. The philospophy is that beer should be for everyone, so a large variety of beer is offered for any palate.

The menu is delicious and simple too. Find bugers, tacos, pizza and the traditional pub-grub.

Everyday there is something happening from happy hour specials to games and entertainment. While visiting Bradenton, this is a must stop spot!

Naughty Monk Brewery – 2507 Lakewood Ranch Boulevard

"<yoastmark

This spot is closer to Lakewood Ranch than downtown Bradenton, but don’t let that detour you from a visit! This 8,600 square foot taproom and brewery is pumping out the finest beers east Manatee county has to offer!

Inspired by a trip to Belgium, this brewery offers a unique set of traditional and non-traditional brews. Brew Master “Freaky Fritz” is always coming up with something new.

Naughty Monk Brewery doesn’t serve food, however, you are more than welcome to bring your own!

This is a great spot! Enjoy pool tables, darts, corn hole and many games during your visit.

Bradenton – Cortez Commercial Fishing Festival

The Cortez Commercial Fishing Festival is an event to celebrate “old Florida” and the fishing heritage of Cortez Village. The festival was founded in 1981 and drew in over 500 people to this small fishing village. The event has grown having an average attendance of 25,000 people. Considering the Cortez Village is less than 10 blocks large that is a significant amount of people for the community.

The Cortez Commercial Fishing Festival offers many things such as great live music, nautical arts and crafts, children’s activities, environmental exhibits, more seafood than imaginable, and of course, beer. This is one party you don’t want to miss.

Parking can be trouble if you don’t get there early enough. There are two satellite parking lots this year, G. T. Bray Park (5502 33rd Ave. Dr. W., Bradenton, 34209) and Coquina Beach (the southern most end of Anna Maria Island) with a shuttle to the festival for $2.00 round trip.

Duffy’s Tavern has great hamburgers and COLD beer

Holmes Beach – Duffy’s Tavern is an Anna Maria Island landmark and has been since it first opened in 1958. Family owned and operated, “Miss Duffy” and her 5 daughters proudly serve their “world famous burgers and the coldest beer this side

of heaven” from a two-story cracker shack located across the street from the Manatee Public Beach on Anna Maria Island, Florida. In March of 2003, Duffy’s relocated across the street from the Holmes Beach City Hall and skate park. Now with air conditioning and a fireplace, it is a great place to hang out where you are never too hot or cold and can mingle with the locals. You can still expect the same service and quality in both the beers and the burgers. Everything comes with chips, never fries.

Duffy’s has fabulous cheeseburgers and try one with everything on it.  There is a bar as well as spots to sit down.  They have an outdoor eating area under roof as well as one out the back which is not under roof.  The regular dining area can be opened up with garage door size screens to let the breeze in on balmy breeze days.  On cold days they get the fireplace roaring and it offers a nice cozy eating spot.  Walk up to the bar and put in your order and Duffy’s will bring the food out when ready.  Plenty of cold beverages at Duffy’s, beer, soda all with Televisions behind the bar to watch your favorite sports team.
