We all have to deal with mother nature and some days are better than others. Tornado’s, Winter Storms, Typhoons, and yes …. Hurricanes. This page is an attempt to help visitors with Anna Maria Island Hurricane and storm information.
The below page is used by the Island Real Estate staff to inform all property owners specific plans underway due to an impending storm. The appropriate storm link below will detail specific information as well as time-lines used by our staff to inform our owners the plans underway as well as local official recommendations or on going requirements due to pending Tropical Storms or Hurricanes. Intensity as well as time before the storm arrive dictates whether a link will be provided below. For example, a TROPICAL STORM being predicted to be hitting Anna Maria Island within the next 96 hours will most likely not make our list until 24 hours prior to arrival. However, a Category 3 Hurricane that is projected to hit Anna Maria Island in 72 hours will be posted below. As usual if you have any questions please call the Island Real Estate Staff toll free at (877) 778 6066 or if you need more information visit our website. The sun is shining, the fishing is great, and Anna Maria Island truly is a boater’s paradise. Everyone should take the time to get out onto the gulf waters, go fishing, sailing, or just cruse at your own pace while you watch the sun go down.
Whatever you do don’t be worried about where to keep you boat if you are renting one, or bringing your own during your Anna Maria Island Vacation. Some of our Vacation Rentals have their own boat dock and if they do not you can keep your boat at Catcher’s Marina in Holmes Beach for a small fee.
Catcher’s Marina is located at 5501 Marina Drive in Holmes Beach just south of the Island Real Estate Office. Subject to availability, “but they always seem to have space”, Catcher’s Marina has daily $40.00, weekly $200, and monthly $350 rates. MAX boat size 28’ or smaller…
Island Real Estate is trying to mix it up a little bit with our videos of the Anna Maria Island Beaches. No changes to our Anna Maria Island beaches. As of June 25th the oil is still hundreds of miles from our beaches.
We wanted to get the perspective of children regarding our white sugar sand. Not much more to say but take a look at the video below which was shot June 21st, 2010. Thanks to i-Jack for taking the video and the interviews. He of course lives and “plays” full-time on beautiful Anna Maria Island. Always trying to give a local perspective.
Same old same old here on Anna Maria Island. Just gorgeous white beaches with lots of visitors enjoying our Gulf
and Bay coasts. I apologize and have not had a chance to visit the beach all week however Melinda Bordes has and thought I would post a few of the amazing pictures she shot in Anna Maria City on the Gulf Coast beach. Melinda a professional Real Estate sales person that specializes in Anna Maria Island real estate and Sunsets got some water shots of a Manatee with visitors to Anna Maria Island. My wife has had a close encounter with a Manatee but no camera. Thanks to Melinda we can all dream of such a day!
Click here for the original Manatee and Sunset post by Melinda. Here is the great Sunset blog that Melinda keeps up so visit her fabulous sunset pictures if you need your “fix” of sunsets.

It has been a week since I have posted a video of the gorgeous Anna Maria Island sugar white sand of our beach. Nothing has changed on Anna Maria Island. Still lots of visitors, locals and sea life having fun on the Anna Maria Island clean beaches. Our beautiful Anna Maria City, Holmes Beach and Bradenton beach Beaches are open for visitors.
I apologize, I have not made it out to the gorgeous white sugar sand beaches of Anna Maria Island all week to show how wonderful our beaches continue to remain. So I have no video at this time but will plan to grab some in the next few days. If you have recently visited Anna Maria Island continue to comment on our post and if you have any pictures or video please share.
Once again I could quote alot of spill updates, how many gallons are being contained but I think we all want to know how and if Anna Maria island has been affected by the Deep Water Oil Spill. The answer continues to be NO. About a week ago I admitted that I smelled an odd odor just in the mornings. It smelled more similar to a faint forest fire than any oil smell. Just the two mornings. No smell since which would more closely confirm that Tropicana was burning orange peels for live stock feed. There is No oil smell on or near Anna Maria Island.
