Hey friends! Tami Turtle here! Anna Maria Island is full of fun things to do, but all of my favorite activities take place on the beach and in the water! What’s my favorite thing to do? Go for a swim of course! But there’s also surfing, paddle boarding, sun tanning, building sand castles, playing frisbee, snorkeling, playing volleyball, having a picnic and so much more! What is your favorite activity on the beach? Shells and kisses, Tami Turtle
An Anna Maria Island Labor day is fantastic! With temperatures in the low 90’s during the day and mid 70’s in the evenings as well as plenty of island activities, it’s going to be a great Labor Day Weekend on Anna Maria Island! There are plenty of Labor Day Activities on Anna Maria Island. Just a few things to remember, garbage pickup for Anna Maria, Holmes Beach, and Bradenton will be postponed by 1 day for the holiday. The Anna Maria Island Trolley will run during regularly scheduled hours on Labor Day, and we have put together a list of activities for the holiday weekend. Have a great Anna Maria Island Labor day weekend!

Bay Front Park is located at the north end of the Island in the City Of Anna Maria and is one of the quieter beaches on Anna Maria Island. Bay Front Park is the perfect place for a picnic, with covered tables, grills, public restrooms, and a playground on the beach for children everyone is happy.
Bay Front Park offers quite beaches, and spectacular views of the Sky Way Bridge, if you are coming from Bradenton take Manatee Avenue West to the beach. Once you have gone over the bridge onto Anna Maria Island make a right onto Gulf Drive. Keep heading north on Gulf Drive, when you come to the stop light in Holmes Beach make a right onto Marina Drive. You will head north on Marina Drive through Holmes Beach to The City of Anna Maria and make a right onto Pine Avenue, take Pine Avenue all the way to the stop sign, make a left onto North Bay Blvd and the park is on your right.
If you are already on the island or are enjoying your Anna Maria Island Vacation and would like to go to Bay Front Park or any other Anna Maria Island beaches take the Anna Maria Island Trolley its free.
Feel like walking to a restaurant from Bay Front park? There are a few choices. The Waterfront restaurant is fine dining just a short walk to the South as well as the public pier restaurant. A bit closer to the North is the Rod and Reel restaurant.
Manatee Public Beach is located in Holmes Beach where Manatee Avenue runs right into the Gulf of Mexico. Manatee Public Beach has free parking, picnic tables, public restrooms, a playground on the beach for children, a fishing pier, a café right on the beach with food and drinks, and a lifeguard on duty.
Manatee Public Beach is a great place to spend the day playing volleyball, fishing, swimming, or just relaxing in the Florida sun. If you are enjoying your Anna Maria Island Vacation and are in need of transportation jump aboard the Anna Maria Island Trolley (it’s free!!!) and can take you to all of Anna Maria Island’s Beaches. When you get hungry or feel like a cold drink you don’t even need to leave the beach, take a stroll to the café at Manatee Public Beach, they offer both inside and outside dining areas, I’m sure will find a sandwich or a tasty snack to cure your appetite. Next to the café is a gift shop with souvenirs and blow up rafts. Manatee Public Beach also has a small beach bar where you can grab a cold beer and watch the sun slowly slip away into the Gulf Of Mexico.

Ok everyone, I have a restaurant you all have to try! The Café on the Beach is the place to be on the weekends or any day really. On the weekends you can enjoy the famous “All You Can Eat” pancake breakfast. Friends of mine were there recently and said, “It isn’t just pancakes. You actually get a full breakfast!” During the week they offer delights such as hamburgers, hotdogs and snacks for relaxing days at the Manatee Public Beach in Holmes Beach. This is a great location to enjoy our beaches because you have a lifeguard on duty, a playground, public restrooms, a large public parking lot and a little beach shop for Florida souvenirs. It is also perfect if you have little kids because you unpack the car once, and you have facilities near by to keep them happy. As a new mom I can’t wait until my little one is big enough to enjoy the azure blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico, sugar soft sand of Manatee Beach and the all you can eat pancakes that I remember from my childhood.
Just visited Cafe on the Beach for dinner and their fish and chips were great. Right now they have all you can eat buffet’s Monday, Wednesday’s and Friday’s for dinner. Currently they have an Italian Buffet, Taco and Fajita bar, and all you can eat fish and chips for their three night a week buffets. We sat out outside in November surrounded by patio heaters and Mike Sales singing to the crowd. Mike’s singing made us all get out of our seats to dance to a few oldies but goodies.
