The paintings of Dorothy Okray at the Artists’ Guild Gallery

Holmes Beach – February 1 through the 28th, the paintings of Dorothy Okray will be displayed in the window of the Artists’ Guild Gallery, located at 5414 Marina Drive in Holmes Beach. Friday, February 13, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM, Dorothy will host a reception also at the Guild Gallery. This event will be in conjunction with the town-wide ArtWalks in the Holmes Beach Art District.

An award winning artist, Okray’s paintings cover a variety of mediums. Her work is represented at the Artists’ Guild of Anna Maria Island Gallery. “Every morning the trees grow a little. Grass grows a little. Every morning the world is new and will never be exactly the same again,” Okray states. “You see new things, think new thoughts, and feel new feelings….every day. You wake up every day a little bit different. And that is what makes painting the most exciting art form…trying to capture the sensation, that fresh moment which exists only for the briefest instance in time.”

Okray has exhibited at the Studio at Pine and Gulf, Anna Maria Island; Art Uptown Gallery, Sarasota; Medical Center, Bradenton; Venice Art Center; University Park Country Club, University Park FL; Art Centers Sarasota and Manatee; Lexow Gallery, Sarasota; The Wine Club, Southlake, TX; Centennial Art Show, Morenci MI; Long Lake Annual Art Exhibition, Long Lake NY; and Rockport Art Center, Rockport MA.

She is a member of the Art Guild of Anna Maria Island, Women’s Contemporary Art Association, Florida HiWay Women Artists, Art Center Sarasota, Art Center Manatee, and is currently the owner of CHURCHgalleries.com, a webpage serving the multimedia design needs of churches throughout the world.
