Downtown Bradenton Old Main Street

If you want to shop, dine, and unwind then Old Main Street is the perfect spot. This is truly the heart of Bradenton. Here you’ll find boutiques, tons of bars and  restaurants too. Old Main Street offers quaint old architecture reminiscent of a small southern town, and fewer modern structures. It’s really a pleasant place to relax while taking in the scenes and window shopping.

Wander down the street to the Riverfront and you’ll find the Pier and Twin Dolphin Marina. The pier not only offers great views of the Manatee River, but also has a very nice restaurant called Pier 22.

If you are looking for a night spot this is the best place for a bar crawl. You’ll find many different bars, pubs and lounges all along Old Main Street. Each bar is unique and draws a different crowd. Just be sure to drink responsibly!

Mckechnie Field

While visiting Anna Maria Island in the Spring, you can catch the Pittsburg Pirates Spring training games at Mckechnie Field. Check out their schedule to see all the different activities happening at this amazing facility.

Village of the Arts

The Village of the Arts is a commercial-residential community on the southern side of the downtown area. Here you’ll find art galleries, specialty shops and restaurants. The first Friday of each month the Village holds an artwalk, however, some of the shops are open Tuesday-Saturday weekly.

The Manatee Performing Arts Center has a long history of producing plays and entertaining Bradentonians since the late 1940’s. Bradenton – Mixon Fruit Farms annual Orange Blossom Festival is taking place Saturday March 1st from 9:00am-5:00pm.

The headline of the show is something much greater. The World Famous Wallenda Troupe will be performing their daredevil acts for all to see. Walking a tightrope over 30 feet above the ground, the Wallenda’s will wow the world again.

Join the World Famous Wallendas at Mixon Farms for amazing high wire feats. The Orange Blossom Celebration will run from 9am-5pm Saturday March 2, 2013 and Sunday March 3, 2013. A notable accomplishment of the group is Nik Wallenda was the first aerialist to cross over Niagara Falls on a high wire.

They will be performing on both days of the event at 10am, 12pm, and 3pm.

Mixon Fruit Farms Annual Orange Blossom Celebration

Mixon Fruit Farms’ Annual Orange Blossom Celebration Festival will be taking place in Bradenton on March 2-3, 2013. The 2 day festival will run from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on both days and features kid’s rides and activities, tram tours, and live entertainment. If you’re interested in getting a tour of the Mixon Fruit Farms then take a ride on one of the tram tours running during the festival! Look for the Wildlife Rescue featuring a large brown grizzly bear to catch a ride.

Tram Tours will be running throughout both days at the following times:

  • 12:40-1:30
  • 1:40-2:30
  • 3:40-4:30

The World Famous Wallendas of the Sarasota Circus will be performing during both days of the festival as well. Their feats of strength, endurance and daring can be found taking place at:

The Starfire Dancers will be performing at the Mixon Orange Blossom Festival on Saturday March 2, 2013 and Sunday March 3, 2013. The dancers have won various national distinctions for their talents including having multiple Gold and High Gold medal winners, as well as a platinum medal winner!

Yesterdayze Band Playing at Mixon Farms Orange Blossom Celebration

The Yesterdayze band will be getting groovy and bring you right back to the jams of the ’60s. They will be performing both days of the Orange Blossom Celebration at Mixon Fruit Farms in Bradenton, FL in typical hippy fashion.
