Island Real Estate's History

Island Real Estate is one of the oldest real estate offices on Anna Maria Island.  Patricia Hendricks founded her brokerage in 1970 with Sis Dudley under the name of Dudley Real Estate.  About 20 years later, it was Patricia Hendricks Real Estate and then Hendricks Real Estate.  Her sale of the business in 1990 and the subsequent name change to Island Real Estate of Anna Maria Island, Inc in August 1991 were merely the latest steps in the continual effort to professionally serve the community.  As of  December 2011, Island Real Estate acquired Betsy Hills Real Estate, P.A. which has a long standing history of serving Anna Maria real estate services and supporting our local community.   Over the next few years vacation rentals grew to 300 strong and later sold to Vacasa in January of 2018.  In the Spring of 2020, Jodi Nichols and Larry Chatt have teamed up after a short two year hiatus from Vacation Rentals to form Island Real Estate Vacations.  Most recently Island Real Estate has seen a significant need to help our real estate clients and Anna Maria Island Vacation rental owners with small and large renovation projects.  We are building our Design and Renovations team over the past 12 months more than doubling the team.  We aim to support our loyal customers with any and all projects they desire for their Anna Maria Island home or condominium.

It has always been top priority to specialize in island properties in a competent and progressive manner.  Island Real Estate is fortunate to have inherited a reputation of honesty, integrity and a “soft touch for good service”.  As we constantly strive to adhere to this way of conducting our business, we will earn the loyalty and trust of the customers and community we serve.
