Anna Maria Island Noise Ordinance
Anna Maria Island’s noise ordinance is designed to ensure residents and visitors can enjoy a peaceful environment. The ordinance applies to all areas of the city, including public and private property and places of business.
Maximum permissible noise levels are:
7 AM–10 PM: 65 decibels
Consistent shouting in the pool may exceed 65 decibels.
10 PM–7 AM: 50 decibels
An audible conversation from 50 feet (15 meters) away may exceed 50 decibels.
The ordinance also prohibits plainly audible noise, meaning sound that can be clearly heard by a person using normal hearing. A violation may occur if responding officers can easily hear the noise from a distance of 100 feet from the property line.
Fines for excessive noise may range from $100 to $1,000.
