We absolutely loved Fish House! We shared the house with our friends for the week and the house was perfect for 2 families including our kids. The house is beautiful and no expense was spared on the finishes and the details. We have stayed on AMI for the past 3 years in different homes and this is by far our favorite house. The location is perfect, a block and a half from the beach, a couple of blocks to Dips, Slim's, etc. but the best part for us was being on the canal. We love to fish so it was great to fish from the dock, and take the kayaks out to the bay (my husband caught a sea trout which was about the best fish I've ever tasted). The kids loved the bunk room, the pool, the hot tub and especially the sand/playground area. This was our first time working with Island Real Estate and they were fantastic! We had a slow drain in the master and both garbage disposals didn't work - they had maintenance there within the hour to fix all the problems. It's hard to say anything negative about this place (we've booked for next year already) but with the drawer fridges (2) being a little small it would be nice to have a beverage fridge (we used our rented cooler for beverages) and there are no exhaust fans in the bathrooms which make it a lot foggy after a shower. Like I said, really hard to pick on anything with this house. It's a gem!"

The pool area is fenced in but only to be closed off from the street not the canal. There is no barrier along the canal.

There are no kayaks or bikes at the house due to liability reasons.
How far of a walk to the beach? Are beach chairs available and is there a beach cart available?

This home is less than two blocks to the beach access. Unfortunately, Island Real Estate cannot guarantee there will be any beach chairs, umbrellas or toys at your vacation rental property. However, if upon arrival you find there are chairs, etc. then you are welcome to enjoy them. Some guests leave items behind and some owners will purchase an inventory of fun beach equipment a few times a year.
Too often these items get left behind on the beach, broken, etc. so there really is no way for us to know what is there from week to week. We suggest you check in, take a look around the property to see what is there that you would like to use and then if you feel you want something extra pick it up at a local shop or rent just about anything from Fun and More, Beach Bum’s or one of the other Anna Maria Island equipment rental companies.
I understand the fence is closed off to the street, but not the canal? So is there a way to contain a dog or could it get loose along the canal? thanks

There is no fencing separating the canal. The backyard is fenced in on both property sides and towards the front.
