Tingley Memorial Anna Maria Island Library – Bradenton Beach

The Anna Maria Island Library is not the only one in the area! There is also a great Independent Library for locals and visitors.

Anna Maria Island Library

Bradenton Beach’s Tingley Memorial Library houses audio books, tourist information, cd’s, computers, free wi-fi internet, reading material for all ages and even videos and DVD’s. It’s one of two libraries on the Island, however it differentiates itself from the Holmes Beach Public Library.  It is not government funded. It is actually run completely by charitable volunteers who commit their time to this non profit that aids the community without using any tax dollars, just donations and generosity. The library also features a children’s corner, free conference room facility, and copy/fax services.

Great for a Rainy Day

One of my favorite things to do on a rainy day is to go to the library and browse their extensive book collections and genres then find a cushy bean bag (or a shady palm tree if its not raining) and a corner to read in.

Purchase a card or kids under 14 are free

You can purchase a library card for $4 annually (or free if you are under 14 years old)! You can even renew your library books over the phone too! This is an accommodation not offered by public libraries. If you are planning a day trip while vacationing on the Island nothing cuts down on the ever famous “are we there yet” road trip slogan like getting lost in a good audio book on the ride. You’ll be there before you know it! Though many of our vacation rentals offer small selections of owner and guest provided literature, find more here too!

The Tingley Memorial Library is two blocks south of the Cortez Bridge Rd at 111 2nd Street North. This is behind City Hall and just off Gulf Drive. They have a trolley stop conveniently located a hop away and offer a bike rack for public use as well.
