Skinny’s was even featured in Southern Living Magazine back in 2011.
“Janice and Carl “Skinny” Freeman fell in love with this remote patch of sand on their honeymoon in the 1930s. Today, the screened-in watering hole on ANNA MARIA ISLAND dishes scrumptious burgers- their trick is seasoning the grill- and beer in frosted mugs under walls packed with family photos. You can still find the 94 – year – old Janice sweeping behind the bar and hear stories of Old Florida from charming regulars.”

Holmes Beach – Looking for some good pub grub? Maybe your favorite team is playing, and you wanted to catch the game. I know a place in Holmes Beach where you can find both! While on Anna Maria Island make sure one of your stops is Hurricane Hank’s Bar & Grill. You definitely have to try the BBQ burger or the black-bean quesadilla. Those are two favorites of the agents in my office. Also on the lighter side they have some mouth watering salads. The Grilled Sesame Chicken Salad or just a Classic Caesar being the top picks. They are also family friendly with great kid’s baskets of chicken fingers, fried shrimp or fish all served with french fries.
Hurricane Hank’s offers a full service bar, and offers a package store directly next to the restaurant where you can purchase beer, wine, liquor and island souvenirs.
The atmosphere is island style with bright colors and beach memorabilia. The dress code is “come as you are” whether that be in a business suit or bathing suit. This may turn into one of your favorite island hot spots.
Hurricane Hank’s is open at 11am everyday closing at 10pm on weekdays and 11pm on weekends.
