On Tuesday, December 3rd at 8pm, the Island Players will perform “Over the River and Through the Woods” at the Island Players Theatre on Anna Maria Island. Doors will open at 7:15 and seating opening at 7:30pm. This warm-hearted comedy presents an Italian-American family trying to prevent their son from moving to Seattle and starting a new life. Tickets to this enjoyable production are available for a mere $20 donation to the AMICCO, the Anna Maria Island Concert Chorus & Orchestra. This benefit will help the Island Players continue to provide our island community with the live classical concerts we love.

The Jingle Bell Run for Arthritis is a Fun and Festive way to kick off your holiday season! The race begins at 7pm on December 7th on 12th St in Bradenton along Old Main Street. Wear a holiday themed costume and put bells on your shoelaces. Run or Walk the 5K, or sign up for the 1 mile Fun Walk. All proceeds go to the Jingle Bell Run for Arthritis Foundation.
Alight dog lovers it’s time to dress up your 4 legged friends and get them signed up for the 10th Annual Canine Costume Contest on Anna Maria Island hosted by the Anna Maria Island Sun Newspaper. The contest is only allowing 50 dogs to enter, so if you want to enter your pooch please make sure to sign up at the AMI Sun right away. All participants must be registered at the SUN by October 24th. Contest starts at 1pm on October 27th in the AMI Sun Plaza located at 202 Palm Avenue Anna Maria.
Be part of the Causeway 4 the Cause this Saturday October 29TH from 9:00am – 1:00pm. Walk, run, or bike the Palma Sola Causeway and help support breast cancer research! Anna Maria Island Causeway 4 the Cause, is a benefit for the Susan G Komen Organization to support breast cancer research!
The benefit will start at beautiful Manatee Public Beach on Anna Maria Island. Participants may walk, run, or bike the causeway to Palma Sola Boulevard and return to Manatee Public Beach. It is approximately 8 miles to Palma Sola Boulevard from the Manatee Public Beach, there will 3, 5, and 8 mile turnaround points with water stations along the way.
Causeway 4 The Cause is asking for $25.00 donations from each participant but will gladly accept whatever you can afford. All of the proceeds will be donated to the Susan G Komen Organization. Women of all ages are welcome and should wear articles of pink to show their support.
