Conga For A Cause On Anna Maria Island

Local musician and entertainer Mike Sales teamed up with The Islander newspaper and other Anna Maria Island organizers to attempt the World’s Longest Conga Line On Sand.  The event took place Saturday April 23 on the beach behind the Moose Lodge in Bradenton Beach just north of the Bridge Street.

Over 200 people showed up in Bradenton Beach on Anna Maria Island last Saturday to conga for a great cause and, convince the Guinness Book of World Records to consider the event.  The event raised money for Moonracer No-Kill Rescue of Holmes Beach by selling conga beach t-shirts and Mike Sales CD’s with hopes to end the needless killings of pets in Manatee County.

Anna Maria Island locals and vacationers danced the afternoon away on the beautiful sugar sand beaches of Anna Maria Island to original music by Mike Sales, and MC/DJ Chris Grumley.  Sponsors for the event included: The Islander, AMI Concierge Services, Bradenton Beach Moose Lodge, and photographer Jack Elka.
