The island is planning the Anna Maria Chalk Festival and looking for local artists to get in on the action.
Anna Maria Chalk Festival
Taking place January 18th and 19th from dawn until dusk, is a collaborative art festival. The Pine Avenue Restoration group, Tourist Development Council, Historic Green Village are putting together the event. They also need the help of Anna Maria Island’s artistic and cultural community. Sarasota Chalk Festival founder Denise Kowal has brought her experience too.
Adult artists of all skill levels welcome to participate in Manatee County’s first ever chalk festival. Tentatively set for Friday January 17th at the Studio on Gulf & Pine, a class will be held to give fresh entrants into the chalk game a basics instructional session on how to create with chalk.
Get more information and email or call Denise Kowal at firstname.lastname@example.org and 941-954-5800. Pay attention to Facebook.com/AnnaMariaIslandChalkFestival for more information on the festival and it’s artists.
This event is a must. In addition to the amazing chalk art there will be food and live music. Kids of all ages can help too! There will be several kid friendly activities for little ones to get chalky.
