During the March 11th Holmes Beach Art Walk the Artists’ Guild Gallery will be holding a reception for award-winning watercolorists Marie Garafano and Dee Pastorius from 5:30-7:30pm at 5414 Marina Drive.
After moving to Bradenton in 1993 Dee Pastorius was able to fully pursue her passion for art. Having worked with many media, she fell in love with watercolors using them almost exclusively. A Philadelphia native and graduate of The Philadelphia College of Art (University of the Arts now) where she taught watercolors, Marie Garafano worked as an illustrator for corporate clients and children’s book publishers through her career. Marie is now a permanent Florida resident practicing her work with the Light Chasers Plein Air Painters. In association with this plein air painters group, one of Marie’s pantings can be found on the Collector’s Wall of the American Art Collectors Magazine.
