I have the best breakfast stop on Anna Maria Island for everyone to try! Peach’s Restaurant in Holmes Beach has the best southern style breakfast around. They offer large portions with killer grits or homes fries. Some of the other sides would be their fruit salad cut fresh every morning or maybe you would like a yummy buttermilk pancake instead. My husband’s thing to order is their “Eggs Blackstone”. This is a slight variation on Eggs Benedict by adding a sliced tomato, and crumbled bacon bits. This great restaurant also offers many lunch options that you just can’t pass up. I think their Monterey Chicken sandwich is very delicious with a little honey mustard instead of mayo. Also a great thing about Peach’s is that it is very family friendly. Being a new mom I like to know there are places where I can take my daughter without having to worry if it will bother people if she starts to get fussy. Everyone who travels to Anna Maria Island needs to eat at Peach’s at least once, but I bet you will come back again and again!
If a view is not the most important priority for your breakfast or lunch , Peach’s could be a good bet. They serve fantastic breakfasts and good lunches. Service is good and the Holmes Beach restaurant serves American cuisine and is child friendly. Eggs Benedict, eggs, bacon, ham, omelette’s, waffles, french toast, hash-browns like mom used to make, pancakes, grits, American breakfast burrito and if you are on a healthy break, oatmeal. The prices are reasonable and on weekend mornings you can expect to wait for 20 minutes or longer. Peach’s is a local chain restaurant in the East Bay Plaza and you can find them in the Bradenton, Florida area. There are about 7 Peach’s in the area.

For many, the Sandbar restaurant Anna Maria city is a must visit while staying on the island. The atmosphere is wonderful and it’s one of the few restaurants where you can dine outdoors while listening to the surf. The most popular time at the Sandbar is just prior to sunset.
The restaurant offers good food with an outstanding view. Preferred seating is accepted for large groups. About one hour prior to Sunset time you can expect to wait over an hour for a seat outside. There are a few tables outside where you can still put your feet in the sand while most are on the wooden deck covered by an open air cathedral tin roof. Inside seating is 3 to 4 rows of with one row along the West wall which offers Direct Gulf Front views. The Sandbar Restaurant Anna Maria City offers a full bar with a smaller seating selection and some but, limited views of the Gulf.
Sandbar Restaurant Anna Maria City Menu
The Sandbar offers fresh local sustainable seafood, salads, hamburgs, children meals such as chicken fingers, Macaroni and cheese, pasta, and seafood. I have had the seafood salad, stuffed flounder, salmon, and a specialty salad and all meals have been good. The Key Lime pie is very good as well as the Calamari. Be careful if you order the Calamari. Be sure to order a half plate unless you have more than 4 people eating. The Full order is huge and could serve as a meal for two or three.
One local favorite thing to do is to walk the beach to the Sandbar and grab a drink or meal. here is nothing like working off your meal by walking the Gulf of Mexico. The Sandbar has an outdoor entry area however you do need to plan to have a shirt on to enter the restaurant. The walk is about 20 minutes from Peppertree or White Avenue in Anna Maria City. From La Casa Costeria on 73rd Street, it’s about a 35 minute walk to the Sandbar.

Oma’s restaurant Bradenton Beach is run by the Mannino family, and has been on Anna Maria Island since 1982. The owners origin is from Sicily so you may find the tomato sauce a little sweet. They serve beer and wine as well as normal beverages. Their claim to fame is pizza so give it a try if you have the time. Patience is the key at Oma’s as the meals and service can take a bit longer than usual.
They serve the normal Italian meals; ziti, chicken parmesan, spaghetti, meatballs, salads, sandwiches, and desserts. In the past few years their prices have become average for the island. However a pizza can be very economical for a larger family. If you are in the mood for Italian this is one of the better choices on Anna Maria Island. See their web site below where they offer their menu without prices.
Additionally, Oma’s does deliver on the island. This is great for a lazy lunch or dinner in your beach rental.
If you decide to dine in, there is also a lovely patio area. You can almost make out a sunset from the patio, and definitely enjoy gulf breezes. Oma’s has many booth seats indoors for a comfortable and relaxing spot to eat.
Open for Breakfast, lunch and dinner the Sign of the Mermaid Anna Maria offers a unique dining experience.
Sign of the Mermaid Anna Maria
Sign of the Mermaid is located in the city Anna Maria on Gulf drive. The restaurant is in a quaint house renovated to accommodate dining guests. Built in 1912 this restaurant is an old home. Creaking floors, artwork, and fabulous antiques are just a few of the items that define the decor of this unusual home.
Meal at the Sign of the Mermaid Anna Maria tend to be larger. They offer seafood, pasta, chicken, lamb, steaks, wonderful appetizers, and out of this world desserts. For breakfast try out the Eggs Andrea. A delicious spin on a traditional Benedict. The dinner menu also has tons of classic favorites with a unique twist. Additionally, in season we recommend reservations, and the atmosphere accommodates children. Sign of the Mermaid has mixed reviews mostly due to the age of the restaurant and the decor. If you prefer the journey to a dining experience we would suggest Sign of the Mermaid.
The Beach Bistro is a fantastic restaurant that offers a dining experience to remember. Several courses are served, or you can order how you like. Reservations are strongly recommended, but you can also try to grab a seat at the bar. If you are looking for a romantic spot with limited gulf views and price is no option then we strongly recommend the Beach Bistro. Average meal prices are well over $35, so be sure you are comfortable with their prices. Younger children are welcome, but are not recommended if you plan on having a long dining experience.
We’ve provided some information below to help you contact them or find them once you’re on the island!

The Waterfront Restaurant Anna Maria is a fabulous above average priced dining experience just South of Pine Avenue.
The Waterfront Restaurant Anna Maria
Try their lobster bisque which is a spoon full of heaven. They also have a fabulous selection of salads, seafood, steaks and just about anything that will satisfy the pickiest eater. Dine inside and relax at the bar while watching salt water fish in their extra large aquarium. In appropriate climate conditions dine outside and enjoy the breeze off the Tampa Bay. If you eat too much or try a fantastic desert, no worries, take a walk down the public pier and enjoy what nature has to offer. You will find bunches of fisher-people at the end of the pier, and you could also be lucky enough to see a dolphin or manatee.
An extremely unique environment is prevalent as soon as you walk into the restaurant. A large coffin of your favorite beverages can be found at the entrance as well as a skeleton which adds to the fun found inside the dining area.
Feast on several different types of barbecue ribs, chicken, or beef. The baked beans are wonderful as well as beans and rice. Mr Bones also offers vegetarian and Indian dishes for those not in the mood for barbecue. If you are a salt and pepper kind of person bring some packets in your pocket. Sorry they don’t provide seasoning for any of the dishes they serve. They have an assortment of salads as well as exotic rice and Indian plates.
