The Tranquil Trails of Robinson Preserve

View from the Observation Tower

Located in North West Bradenton, FL, you will find the tranquil trails of Robinson Preserve. With over 682 acres of mangroves, marsh, and coastal wetland habitats, this place will turn your morning jog into a relaxing adventure through nature.

Along with the trails, Robinson Preserve also has kayak launches, restrooms, and picnic areas. There is also an incredible observation tower, where you can look out on to gorgeous views of the preserve, Tampa Bay, and the Skyway Bridge in the distance.

The NEST

In early 2018, Robinson opened their new expansion to the preserve, called the “NEST”. The NEST is short for the Mosaic Center for Nature, Exploration, Science and Technology. The new space is a beautiful, multi-purpose building that is home to a ton of hands-on interpretive programming for all ages. You can even rent out the NEST for your own private event.

Robinson’s Preserve has a variety of activities to indulge in while you’re there, including:
. Hiking/walking the nature trails. You can always bring your four-legged, furry friend along with you (as long as their on a leash)
. Kayaking/Canoeing through the numerous trails through the mangroves (this activity I highly suggest, it is simply a wonderful experience)
. Biking
. Rollerblading
. Long boarding
. Managed fishing
. Bird Watching
. Wildlife viewing areas
. Group Camping (by reservation only)

Accessibility to the trails isn’t an issue. The trail that begins at the entrance is paved, and travels the entire preserve. However, most of the other trails are packed shell.

So take the trip out to Robinson’s Preserve, get outdoors, and enjoy nature!

Public Tennis Court information on Anna Maria

There are tennis courts just at the end of 62nd street in Holmes Beach. Actually, the courts are just down the street from the Island Real Estate office on Marina Drive. There are three public tennis courts and generally use is based on first come first serve. The fence is ample height to retain most errand tennis balls. One fabulous feature is the night lights that are activated by hitting a small button as you walk into the tennis court. At least in the past there is a switch on one of the light poles outside the court that allows you to turn on the outdoor lights if playing in the evening.  If the lights are not on, look for the outdoor pole which allows you to depress a button that will turn on the lights for a preset amount of time.

The open tennis court overlooks one of several public boat docks on Anna Maria Island.

Personal fitness training on Anna Maria Island – relax and get fit all on Anna Maria

Relax, your on an Anna Maria Island Vacation.  Most relax on the beach but it is always a great time to get back in the “saddle” again to get your physical activity on the right track.  Walking or jogging the beach is a favorite past-time but another option that most don’t consider is a personal trainer.

Jeff Levine will take you to one of several Anna Maria Island fitness centers and take you through a routine sure to get your heart pumping or assist your body-part that may need strengthening.  With over 30 years of personal and fitness training, Jeff will be sure to get you back on the right track or help you mix up your fitness training while staying on Anna Maria.  Jeff prides himself in offering fun highly productive fitness.

Another great option is to work out on the beach.  It’s more common than you think but it offers great relaxation as well as productive fitness.  After all, what better way to break a sweat than having an expert in their field show you new and great ways to keep yourself healthy and happy, all while doing it on the beach!

Another great idea is to have Jeff train your family, multiple couples, or multiple groups.  Jeff can help with groups and the best thing of all is your price per person will reduce as the group becomes larger.  If your family is like most families everyone could use a little help burning calories from all the great restaurants on Anna Maria Island.

Holmes Beach Public Basketball Court

Anna Maria Island has one public basketball court located in Holmes Beach.  The basketball court is located across from the tennis courts just at the end of 62nd street just East of Island Real Estate.  It is a full basketball court fenced in so errand balls will remain in play.  I have used the court several times and have never seen others playing on the court so having the court available is a fairly good bet.

Baseball Softball Field Anna Maria Island

Enjoy the baseball softball field Anna Maria Island style. Get a baseball game going at Birdie Tebbetts Field in Holmes Beach on beautiful Anna Maria Island!

Baseball Softball Field Anna Maria Island

The baseball diamond is open to the public so anyone can hit the ball around.  It’s always a good idea to stay flexible. Have an alternative plan in the case that the field is already in use.

Baseball Softball Field Anna Maria Island

Just South of the diamond, there’s a large open space. Play baseball or softball here too. There is a trolley stop very close to the baseball diamond. It’s located in front of the skate park, so you don’t have to drive or worry about a place to park.

Anna Maria Island boasts several large open areas and the public space in Holmes Beach is no exception. Just east of Marina Drive between 59th Street and 62nd Street there is a very large open space. This is also very close to the Island Real Estate Marina Drive location.  In this area you will find the only public baseball or softball diamond on Anna Maria Island.
