Using organic and locally sourced products whenever possible, Chef Gaetano of Ortygia Ristorante doesn't rest on the fact that he runs the only Sicilian joint in town to set himself apart.
Located on an off street in downtown Bradenton's Village of the Arts, the single story bungalow that houses Ortygia almost blends into the neighborhood. With a menu of traditional Sicilian staples, which does differ from the regular Americanized Italian food that most people are accustomed to, Ortygia's menu is light, clean and elegant. All I can say is try the Torte's, the crusts are hand rolled.
Keeping with the Village of the Arts trend of blending creative types, Ortygia hosts musicians, singers and poets on Tuesday nights from 6:00pm-9:00pm for Ortygia Unplugged, their very own Open Mic Night.
