David Teitelbaum is an award-winning builder/developer, who created the nation’s first Real Estate Recycling consortium, packaged the first large scale conversion of offices into apartments, and financed Real Estate projects with international funds. He developed New York City residential, commercial, recreational and cultural projects in excess of 100 million from 1974-1984. During this period he was active in the NYC Real Estate community – participating on numerous civic boards and historic preservation societies. His awards include:

American Institute of Architects – New York Chapter, Building Stone Institute, Buildings Magazine, Stone World Magazine, Presidents Advisory Council, National Computer Graphics Association, Engineering News Record, Arthur Ross Craftsman Award, Upper East Side Historic District, Civitas, Classical America, Preservation League of New York, Municipal Art Society, New York Landmarks Conservatory, and others.

David has been directly involved in the Real Estate, hospitality and tourism marketplace since 1965, when he was a principal in a direct marketing firm in Los Angeles, CA. In 1975 he acquired the 220,000 s/f landmark Barbizon Hotel for women, located on the historic upper east side of NYC. He gut-renovated, refurbished and operated this luxury hotel until 1984 – when he sold it to the KLM Golden Tulip hotel group.

From 1984 to 2000 David managed a profit/not-for-profit venture with this Cathedral St John the Divine in NYC that included Cathedral StoneWorks Gallery, and the internationally acclaimed masonry training program.

In 2003 David acquired the Tortuga Inn Beach Resort and the Tradewinds Resort, located in Bradenton Beach, Florida. Both of these Gulf-to-Bay luxury resorts were totally repositioned, renovated, and refurbished. Twenty-three new luxury two bed/ two bath units were constructed, decorated and furnished. All 90 units in the two resorts were recently converted into condominium ownership.

David currently serves as president of the two resort condominium associations, and Old Bridge Village association – a new Bradenton Beach residential condominium complex he developed in 2002. In addition, he serves as a board member of the Manatee County Tourist Development Council, the Bradenton Beach Waterfront Florida Partnership – (WAVES), and the Anna Maria Island Chamber of Commerce. David is an advisor for the AMI Young Professionals and the AMI Historic Society.
