Anna Maria Island Community Center Hosts Murder Mystery Dinner Theater November 19th

The Anna Maria Island Community center hosts their murder mystery dinner theater “Till Death Do Us Part” this Saturday November 19th from 6:30pm – 11pm. Tickets are currently on sale for $30.00 each or $200.00 for a table of 8. All of the proceeds will benefit the youth programs at the Anna Maria Island Community Center.

This a fun who-done-it interactive dinner party set during a wedding reception where the cast-members will involve diners in a twisted tale of sudden death. The hunt for the killer will continue into the night, encouraging guests to guess who the killer is and solve the mystery.

There will be raffles and a prize for the person who correctly identifies the killer. The dinner is sponsored by Walter and Associates. LeeRoy Selmons will cater the event and the last hour will be a dance party hosted by the one and only DJ, Chris Grumley!

The Anna Maria City Pier Boardwalk Is Near Completion

Boardwalk At The Anna Maria City Pier

After a quiet lunch at Bay Front Park in Anna Maria I decided to take a stroll down the new boardwalk, to the Anna Maria City Pier. The boardwalk is near completion and the northern end of the boardwalk and parking lot was opened for the first time to the public Monday July 25th.

Crews have been working on the project since mid-May 2011 and have already added 850 feet of boardwalk walk, wooden benches to take in beautiful views, and plush landscaping that is sure to make this boardwalk very attractive when it all grows in.

Looking At Anna Maria City Pier

Currently trolley shelters are being constructed at the entrance of the Anna Maria City Pier, and officials say that the trolley stop should be ready by late August. Additionally there are plans to add more parking, lighting, irrigation, trash enclosures, bike racks, signage, and concrete pads for magazine racks. Weather permitting, this project is anticipated to be complete in the fall of 2011.

Named after her English Bulldog Bella, Jo-Ann Lefner opened Bella By The Sea because she was inspired by the quaint northern end of Anna Maria Island. Angler's Lodge Moves To The Historic Green Village In Anna Maria

This past weekend May 13th & 14th 2011 we celebrated The Anna Maria City Pier’s 100th Birthday with a parade down Pine Avenue. The Anna Maria City Pier was built in 1911 during the beginning stages of commercial development on Anna Maria Island.
