There are not many high rises on the island, yet even three floors can be steep without an elevator – especially when carrying luggage, groceries, beach toys and of course bags of souvenirs. Elevators located in condominiums are shared with others in the building. Any elevators in private homes are for handicapped and luggage use only. Both often land first in the parking or garage area.

Even on vacation it’s hard to stay “unplugged”. If having internet service is important on your vacation, please make sure to choose a property that has this amenity included free of charge. Most offer Wi-Fi yet some have a high-speed set up. With the internet access conveniently located at your vacation rental property you will be able to check email, look up movie times for those rare rainy days and check to see what time the sun sets over the gulf that night!
We love our furry friends! Island Real Estate has about 60 pet friendly properties available for those traveling with pets. Please note that there is an additional damage deposit of $250-$500 depending on size of and number of pets vacationing with you. Half of this deposit will be returned to you within 14 days of departure, pending no damage. The causeway (located on Manatee Avenue between Bradenton and the island) and Robinson Preserve are both great spots for your dog to enjoy the warm waters as the island beaches do not welcome pets. Florida has a strict leash law so don’t forget yours!
Even with the Gulf and Bay waters close, having a swimming pool to enjoy is always a plus. If a pool is heated, shared or caged you can expect us add that information. We have a small selection of homes with salt water pools that are perfect for those with severe allergies.
Pools located at private homes or duplexes are residential, cleaned professionally once a week and vary in size. You can expect a pool at a condominium to be a larger commercial pool with cleaning more frequent and pool rules posted for everyone’s safety and comfort.
