John van Zandt brings to all his clients a background of solid business experience. Since selling his advertising agency in 2003, which specialized in creating and producing effective marketing, advertising, publicity and promotional campaigns, John van Zandt has been a Realtor at Island Real Estate in Holmes Beach, Florida. Since then he consistently ranks in the top echelon of all Manatee County Realtors, coming in at number 37.
He is a full-time agent, dedicated to helping his sellers obtain the most for their properties, especially in these difficult times. For his buyers, he works hard to find the very best possible deal: the perfect property in a superior location at a bargain price.
As a marketing professional, he has been associated with the sale of more than $1 billion in residential real estate and a similar amount for retirement communities throughout his career. For example, John created a Showcase of New Homes for U.S. Home Corporation’s Central Florida Division, which led to 12,000 new prospects appearing in six new home communities in just 10 weeks. He rolled out a campaign introducing 10 new assisted living facilities nationally in just 18 weeks.
van Zandt was a member of the Manatee Chamber of Commerce’s Creative Task Force in which he helped to brand the Chamber of Commerce as the best in the state for the year 2000. John helped rename Manatee Vo-Tec to Manatee Technical Institute and introduced school choice programs for the School Boards of Sarasota and Manatee Counties.
Among other community service activities, he has served on the Board of Governors of Manatee Technical Institute, the Board of Directors for the Advertising Federation of the Suncoast and was a founding member of the Sarasota-Manatee Chapter of Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International.
In other community activities, he has been president of Island Soccer, a board member of Manatee Area Youth Soccer Organization, commodore of Manatee Sailing Association, president of the Anna Maria Elementary Parent Teacher Organization, treasurer of the Anna Maria Island Community Center, vice president of the Anna Maria Island Community Orchestra and Chorus and board member of the Island Chamber of Commerce. He has served on the board of the Police Athletic League.
