Betsy Hills

Betsy grew up in the Chestnut Hill area of Philadelphia in a large and loving family comprised of five sisters and three brothers! She attended the Springside School, and then moved to New York to attend Briarcliff College, where she graduated with a BA in art history.

After college she returned to Philadelphia and taught high school art for four years. It was during a school vacation that she met her husband, Bob. In a later trip to Florida to visit her mother-in-law, she and Bob fell in love with Anna Maria, and moved here in 1976 to begin a new life in the island paradise.

With the move came a new career, and Betsy quickly discovered she loved the business of real estate. After lots of hard work and study, she opened Betsy Hills Real Estate in 1983, and has been here in the historic cottage on Pine Avenue ever since. One of her greatest joys is to have helped several generations of the same family purchase their own place in the sun!

Happily, Betsy continues to welcome her large family to the island for frequent visits, some of whom have made their homes here as well. But even when members of the family are spread out across the globe, Betsy has a knack for turning clients into friends. Her warmth and generosity make newcomers to the island feel like they’ve found a true home with the Betsy Hills family!
